The last Internet marketing course that my company intended, that was put on by the National Association of Realtors was about subscribing to more realtor websites, Realtor owned technology and basically more things to do to promote the National Association of Realtors and was not about real Internet Marketing that would actually get your real estate Sold online where the buyers are looking.
This course seem to be completely opposite of everything that I had learned in Internet marketing. The idea of Internet marketing is to get your real estate for sale found on the Internet by buyers that are looking for it. And the opposite of that is to use Internet marketing as a tool for the buyers. So that they may find you easily and on targeted websites. The idea is to be at the top of the search engines, where your buyers are looking for you.
The Internet marketing classes that I have been to over the years. Talk about what we, as a realtors can do to boost our sales and to sell our properties for our sellers, and yet the information seems to always point out your realtor or something that they own and giving money or subscribing to something else that they sell.
The Association of realtors does not seem to be about really marketing the property effectively for the real estate seller and making it easy for the real estate buyer to find the seller. The national Association of realtors does not want you to make this connection, nor do they want their agents to really understand this connection of buyers and sellers will find each other and realtors will not be needed. Plus realtors won't subscribe to everything that the national Association of realtors and selling them if they knew the truth about Internet marketing. And by the time, the realtors wake up to what they should be doing in Internet real estate marketing to actually sell your home, the domain name, or the websites that they need to own to sell your property will evolve and bought out.
Now, the national Association of realtors do not want realtors to use the domain name is that say realtor in the name, I will give you a link to some of the national Association bylaws that pertain to this later. I do know that I have had some real estate websites with the name realtor in them actually had about 200 of these websites. About two years after I own these names, the trademark attorneys for the national Association of realtors told me to cease and desist in using these names. They did not have a problem with need. Keeping these names parked at a domain name registrar. They just didn't want me to use the name. So is okay if I renewed the name every year just don't put my name on it. But the national Association of realtors was clueless about was that somebody is making money off of the name. When a domain name is that a parking company. There is advertising on that name, and somebody is making money from that trademark.
I had files at the time that kept the record of some of the domain names I'd found. Such as porn realtor.com... there was also Christian realtor.com.
These names had been bought and sold and people had made money from them for years. There were a lot and still are a lot of realtors and non-realtors using the name realtor in their domain name. But as a working real estate agent that was a member of the national Association of realtors and a member of the Association of realtors in various states, they chose to attack me and take take my names away from me. Even though I was a realtor and was using this name to market my sellers.
Realtor does not want its agents to compete with them for Internet traffic because they want to get all of the traffic in and sell this back to the realtors.
This is not a good thing for real estate sellers, nor is this a good thing for will stay buyers.
Nor is it in the spirit of cooperation and competition.
